Victorian-style Haupt Conservatory was inspired by the
Palm House at the Royal Botanic Garden at Kew, in London. The largely glass-and-steel structure is a testament to the technology of the
Industrial Revolution placed in service to an aristocratic ideal of luxury—that plants might be grown in any climate—and made available to all. In late April, the NY Botanical Garden is a delight both inside and out. To see more of New York City from above go to
